Hikvision eLearning training content used by Singapore college
Dec 7, 2022 - Hikvision training content from its eLearning platform has been used by the ITE College East in Singapore in their curriculum to teach students about the technical and operational side of video security technology. This allows them to achieve accreditation to CGSA (Certified General Security Associate) Standard, which can open up future careers in the security industry.
CGSA-CCTV certification focuses on essential theoretical knowledge and applications of general security systems and products. The certification is designed for installers, integrators, engineers, college students, and anyone else who is interested in working in security.
It provides a solid foundation for core skills and knowledge, so when students successfully complete the course, their certificate is recognized across the world by security companies.
ITE College East is a college of Enterprise & Innovation, where students receive industry-relevant training. The college also works to nurture their innovative and enterprising spirit.
The courses go down well at the college, with students and teachers alike enjoying and appreciating the content. One lecturer said: “The course has provided useful insights into how to build and deploy a basic video network security system. My students have also picked up interesting facts about PoE IP cameras, PTZ IP cameras and network video recorders.”
This content represents just one of the many courses on Hikvision’s eLearning platform. The platform is designed to enhance the competence of both security professionals and beginners starting out in the security industry through learning courses and certifications. This project is one of the first collaborations between the eLearning platform and partners. In time, the platform will include trainers from other partner companies or colleges to provide training to the customer or students in their countries.
The platform offer two types of certification programs:
Whichever course they choose, and however they train, students can go ahead with the exam and apply for the certificate if they pass.
Since establishment of the partnership, 54 certificates have been granted to ITE students, and more students are expected to get CGSA-CCTV certifications in the future.
Alvin Zhao, Manager of the Technical Support Department at Hikvision, said: “It’s important for the future of an industry that its new joiners should be fully supported and trained. Hikvision understands this and commits to providing high quality training materials to professionals throughout the industry through initiatives like the eLearning platform.”
